There is a Wideness in God’s Mercy
Frederick William Faber wrote a hymn, “There is a Wideness in God’s Mercy.” I like the words of this old hymn:
“But we make God’s love too narrow
By false limits of our own;
And we magnify His strictness
With a zeal He will not own.
For the love of God is broader
Than the measures of the minds;
And the Heart of the Eternal
Is most wonderfully kind.”
It is concerning that many contemporary Christians may not fully embrace God’s mercy and may inadvertently inhibit others from experiencing it.
